From Wheatmore High School:
Wheatmore track and field hosted Providence Grove, Randleman, and TW Andrews on Thursday. The Warrior girls finished 2nd while the Warrior boys finished 3rd.
Outstanding performances include:
- Rosie Langendorfer finished 2nd in the 100 and 300 meter hurdles.
- The girls' 4x200 meter relay finished 1st. (Emma Atwell, Rosie Langendorfer, Madelyn McQuaigue, Erin Lambeth)
- Neva Hippert finished 1st in the 400 meter dash and pole vault and 2nd in the 800 meter run and long jump.
- Caleb Gundaker finished 2nd in the 400 meter dash.
- Morgan Cunha finished 1st in the 3200 meter run and set a new school record with her time of 13:45.
- The girls' 4x400 meter relay finished 1st. (Emma Atwell, Madelyn McQuaigue, Erin Lambeth, Lillian Church)
- Erin Lambeth finished 1st in the girls' triple jump.
- Jordan Kight finished 2nd in the boys' triple jump.
- Alex Trexler finished 1st in the shot and discus throws.
Wheatmore will host Providence Grove, Jordan Matthews, and Eastern Randolph next Thursday (4/4) at 4:30pm.

March 15, 2019 – ALL-DISTRICT BASKETBALL HONORS
The North Carolina Basketball Coaches Association has announced All-District honors for the 2018-19 season. The award recognizes a high quality of play for both girls and boys regardless of school classification.
Among those selected as All-District girls performers were Randolph County athletes: Heaven Maness (SWR), Rachel Luna (AHS), Tanaesha Ellison (AHS), Taylor Gantt (RHS) and Diamond McDowell (AHS).
Asheboro's David Hayes is the Coach of the Year in District 8.
All-District boys include Gavin Rains (WHS), Tanner Ferguson (SWR), Cory Durrant (AHS) and Tysean Freshwater (AHS).
Along with those local athletes, the Mid-Piedmont, Piedmont Athletic and Yadkin Valley Conferences were well-represented: Kennedy Simmons (SEG), Kristen Roberts (SEG), Zycoria Tillman (Albemarle), Armani Baldwin (Albemarle), Jocelyn Mitchell (JM) and Danielle Werts (GSD); Nasir Johnson (WW), Kennedy Miles (WW), Tyler Dearman (SG) and Bryson Childress (NS).
Rachel Clark of Southeast Guilford is the District 7 girls Coach of the Year and Tommy Cole of Williams High School is the District 6 boys Coach of the Year.

From SWR: The Cougars, with only one returning player, faced tough opposition but held their own pretty
well. With one freshman, two sophomores, and three juniors, the 2019 Cougars show great promise for the future.
Leading scorer for the Cougars was John McDowell who carded an impressive 45. Returning player, Jordan Reynolds had a 51, Justin Gillespie a 58 and freshman Tyler Hill a 60.
Other players were Nicholas Cagle, 62 and Logan Walker with a 66. The top four scores combined for a team total of 214, just one stroke out of 5th place.
