April 18, 2025 – Friday Results

  BASEBALL

 ZOOKEEPERS CLASSIC (at McCrary Park)

Chatham Charter 10, SW Randolph 6

The Cougars scored 3 runs in both the first and third innings and led 6-0 after 4 innings.

There were two hits by Zack Scruggs (sac fly, rbi, run), Jonah Campbell (run) and Owen Peele (rbi). Single hits by Logan Weidman (3b, hbp, 3 rbi, run), Jake Gainey (1-1, 2 walks, sac bunt, rbi) and Landon Hardin (walk).

Wiedman pitched 4.2 innings and left with the score tied 6-6. Grant Kirk worked 1 innings and took the loss. Kam Carter got the final out.

Brandon Rives (2 runs) and Jace Young (2b, 3 rbi, run) had 2 hits each for the Knights.

Jace Young got the win working 4 innings in relief of starter Luke Johnson.

Asheboro 5, Eastern Randolph 0

Mason Kotlowski got the win with 4 hits and 2 walks in 4 innings. Grayson Norman walked 3 and struck out 3 in 3 innings of relief.

Adam Curry went 2-for-2 with a triple, a walk and 2 runs scored. Single hits by Jacob Tevebaugh (2b, rbi, run), Shane Immel (2b, rbi), Sam Gore (rbi), Ben Luck (2b, 2 runs), Cohen Caviness (double) and Daniel Jaimes.

Will Stalker had 2 hits, including a double, for Eastern. Single hits by Rayden West and Avery Wright.

Cade McCallum pitched 4 innings and took the loss giving up 3 earned runs on 6 hits and 2 walks with 5 strikeouts. Lucas Smith allowed 2 runs (1 er) on 1 hit and 2 walks with 1 strikeout in relief.


April 17, 2025 – Thursday Results

  BASEBALL

Asheboro 10, Montgomery Central 5

AHS: The Blue Comets recorded 21 hits in the game. Shane Immel had 4 hits with an rbi and 2 runs scored. Sam Gore (3 runs), Jacob Tevebaugh (rbi), Cohen Caviness (4 rbi) and Adam Curry (rbi, run) had 3 hits each. Two hits by Daniel Jaimes (rbi, run) and Gavin Allen (rbi). Gabriel Jaimes had a hit.

Allen pitched 6 innings for the win allowing 5 runs (2 er) on 7 hits and 3 walks with 2 strikeouts. Mason Koslowski faced 3 batters and struck out 1 in an inning of work.

 ZOOKEEPERS CLASSIC (at McCrary Park)

Southeast Alamance 8, SW Randolph 1

Logan Wiedman had 2 hits and Zack Scruggs 1 hit for the Cougars. Jonah Campbell scored when Owen Peele was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

Jake Lunsford pitched 4 innings and took the loss giving up 7 runs (6 er) on 9 hits with 4 strikeouts. Jake Gainey allowed 1 run on 5 hits and 2 walks with 1 strikeout in 3 innings.

A 4-for-4 day at the plate by Bubba Sims propelled Southeast Alamance to the afternoon win. Sims hit 2 solo home runs, a double and a single producing 3 rbi and scoring 3 runs. Tanner Bowdon (2b, 3b, rbi, run) and Parker Harpin (2 rbi) had 3 hits each. There were 2 hits by Paxton Piccini (2 doubles, rbi, run) and Ayden Amick (2b, 2 runs).

Piccini gave up 2 hits and 1 walk in 6 innings while striking out 5 batters. Amick allowed the run and 1 hit in the seventh inning.

Faith Christian School 1, Eastern Randolph 0  (9)

Starting pitchers Austin Smith (FCS) and Chance Holdaway (ER) combined for 12 innings of shutout baseball. Smith gave up 3 hits with 4 strikeouts in 5 innings while Holdaway surrendered 5 hits and 2 walks in 7 innings (+ 1 batter) of work.

Mason Tayler got the win by working the final four hitless innings for Faith Christian with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts.

Cade McCallum gave up 2 hits and the run in the top of the ninth inning.

Hayden Robbins had 2 hits for the Eagles including the ninth winning rbi game-winner.

Single hits by Ayden Andrews (run), Houston Walker, Layton Moser, Taylor and Smith.

McCallum, Holdaway and Will Stalker had hits for the Wildcats.


April 16, 2025 – Wednesday Results

  BASEBALL

 ZOOKEEPERS CLASSIC (at McCrary Park)

Southern Alamance 8, Wheatmore 0

Wheatmore never got on track offensively recording just 2 hits, 2 walks and 1 hit batter with all 5 runners left stranded. Hits by Rowan Wagner and Caleb Coggins.

Kaden Parker had 2 hits with 2 rbi and 2 runs scored for Southern Alamance and Cooper Partin hit a ground-rule double.

Parker got the on the mound and Trey Mitchell suffered the loss.

Southeast Alamance 14, Eastern Randolph 4

Avery Wright went 2-for-2 with 2 doubles and an rbi fir the Wildcats. Single hits by Chance Holdaway (2 rbi, run) and Alex Kivett. Bryson Marley pitched 3.2 innings and took the loss.

Bubba Sims got the complete game win for Southeast Alamance.

SW Randolph 11, Southern Lee 1

The Cougars went ahead 2-1 in the fourth inning and used 2 big innings to pull away for the final score in seven innings.

Brady Armfield had 3 hits with 3 rbi and 2 runs scored. Jake Gainey had 2 hits and drove in 3 runs. Single hits by Zach Scruggs (rbi, 2 runs, 3 walks, hbp), Jonah Campbell (rbi, run, 2 walks) and Owen Peele (rbi, run).

Lane Poole pitched into the seventh inning and got the win allowing 1 (unearned) run on 4 hits, 4 walks and 4 hit batters with 3 strikeouts. Kam Carter pitched the final inning.

Christian Cox took the loss with 5 (earned) runs on 5 hits and 3 walks with 5 strikeouts.

Burns 14, Trinity 1 (Ashley HS)

Laney 9, Uwharrie Charter 4 (Legion Stadium)

Jose Ramirez had 2 hits for the Eagles with a double and a run scored. Single hits by Jaxon Mabe, Grat Dalton (rbi), Rusty Wheless (rbi, run), Ty McAuley (run) and Jacob Asbill (2 rbi).

Jake Hunter gave up 5 runs (3 er) in 2 innings and took the loss.

Randleman 4, New Hanover 3 (Legion Stadium)

Kai Strickland was 3-for-3 with an rbi and a run scored. Braxton Walker (double) and Jackson Hill (2 doubles, rbi, run) had 2 hits each. Single hits by Tate Andrews (rbi) and Lincoln Lawson (rbi).

Walker got the complete game win allowing 3 runs (2 er) on 7 hits and 1 walk with 8 strikeouts.
