ER: In coach Lavette Graham's 100th coaching victory Savannah Beaver was perfect through 4 innings with 9 strikeouts before giving way to Addie Flinchum who struck out the side in the fifth inning.
Olivia Hall had 3 hits (double, 2 runs scored); Two hits each for Dori Luther (3 rbi) and Skylar Pugh (2 doubles, 2 rbi); Single hits for Flinchum (2 rbi), Courtnee Carter (double, rbi) and Savannah Beaver (double).

FROM AHS: The Asheboro Blue Comets Women's Soccer team hosted conference opponent Walter M Williams tonight. The Blue Comets came out on top with 2-0 win! Annabeth Trotter started the scoring late in the first half with a goal off of a free kick right outside the box. After the half Estefania Valencia found the back of the net again for the Blue Comets assisted by Ashley Barrios.
The midfield quartet of Trotter, Jenna Brinkley, Stephanie Haro and Madison Luck control the game in the center of the pitch. Lynsey Hill and Riley Adams played a solid game in the center of the defense.
Sarah "Pompoms" Allred was a wall in the nets for the Blue Comets with 16 saves and taking home the shut out and player of the game!

From AHS: The Women's soccer team defeated conference rival Southeast Guilford 2-1 in double overtime. Going into the second half down 1-0, AHS rallied to tied up the game with a goal from Annabeth Trotter, assisted by Natalie Flores. In the 5th minute of the first overtime, Stephanie a Valencia scored off of a beautiful pass from Trotter.
Lynsey Hill lead with maturity on the back line and Tess Moody brought fire to the front line! Carlisle Dozier had 6 saves in the nets for the Blue Comets.

Trinity and Uwharrie Charter Academy will represent Randolph County when the men's soccer state tournament begins Tuesday.
The 13th seeded Bulldogs finished second to Jordan-Matthews in the PAC 7 and will travel to #4 Washington in round one of the 2A East Regional. The Jets are seeded 5th and will host Northeastern High School.
Uwharrie Charter finished 3rd in the Yadkin Valley 1A Conference and received a 14th seed in the state tournament. The Eagles will play at #3 Community School of Davidson in the West Regional. Also from the YVC, conference champion Gray Stone (#5 seed) will host Woods Charter and North Moore (#11 seed) will travel to Mount Airy.

Nine Randolph County basketball players have been honored by the North Carolina Basketball Coaches Association as members of the All-District Team for the 2021 season in North Carolina's District 8.
In women's basketball, Diamond McDowell (AHS), Malea Garrison (PG) and Gracyn Hall (RHS) were among the five players named to the All-District 1st team. Autumn Gentry (THS) and Tanaesha Ellison (AHS) were voted onto the 2nd team and Alexis Maness (SWR) was named to the 3rd team.
This is the third time for McDowell and Ellison, and the second time for Gentry and Hall to be recognized as All-District performers,
In men's basketball, Nate Cassidy (RHS) was named to the All-District 1st team while Jonathan Foust (PG) and Noah Watkins (AHS) were named to the 2nd team.
2021 marks Cassidy's second time for All-District recognition.

The Yadkin Valley Conference has announced All-Conference awards for the 2020-21 basketball and swimming seasons.
Local students who were recognized for their outstanding seasons include Natalie Beeson and Kristen Jensen of Uwharrie Charter women's basketball along with Ashton Troutman and Dylan Wheatley of the men's team with Cam Fordham as an honorable mention.

Ashton Troutman 6'6" So. Center
Led the team in scoring and rebounding at 16.2 ppg, and 8.6 rpg. Shot 68% from the field. Ashton was a force in the interior totaling 14 dunks on the year.
Dylan Wheatley 6'3" Jr. Shooting Guard
A steady player for the Eagles all season averaging 13.2 ppg, 3.8 rpg, while shooting a blistering 43% from three point range.
Cam Fordham 6'4" Sr. Power Forward
Our team's success does not exist without Team Captain Cam Fordham. The team's best communicator and a model of consistency with his leadership, accountability and toughness. Fordham averaged 7.5 ppg and 6.1 rbg.
