From AHS: The Asheboro Blue Comet ladies tied Southwestern Randolph tonight 1-1. The Blue comets had 30 shots on the evening and SWR's Alex Bagley had an incredible night in goal. The blue comet goal was scored, unassisted by Natalie Flores. Carlisle Dozier had 4 saves for the Blue Comets.
All 6 Seniors had a stellar performance tonight. Lynsey Hill, Stephanie Haro, Guadalupe Avalos Castro, Jenna Brinkley, Annabeth Trotter and Estefania Valencia have been solid leaders in an unprecedented season.
From SWR: Maggie Lowe scored the goal assisted by Sadie Mabe. It was a whole team effort on defense with many players playing out of position due to injuries, solidified by Kylie Zimpfer on the back line and Alex Bagley with 20+ Saves in goal. Seniors Caitlyn Currigan, Joceyln Zuniga, Arlet Arellano, and Caroline Wilson fought hard for their last away match.

Heaven Maness (SWR '20) has been named Freshman of the Year in the South Athletic Conference as well as First Team All-Conference in softball. In addition to excellent defense, the Bulldogs' 3rd baseman was in the top ten in numerous offensive categories her freshman year.
The SAC also recognized Ty-Kella Goins (ER '16) as the Conference Player of the Year. The Lincoln Memorial University 2nd baseman received her fourth All-Conference honor and ranks in the top five in several LMU categories including career batting average, doubles, total hits and more.
Wingate and Lincoln Memorial split their regular season-ending doubleheader on April 17 and both teams begin play Friday (4/23) in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament in Greenville, Tn. Wingate plays Carson-Newman at 11 am followed by LMU vs UVA-Wise at 1:30.

April 15, 2021 – GRADY LAWSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
There will be a fundraiser Saturday for a scholarship memorializing the late Grady Lawson, a long-time supporter of athletics in Randolph County. Lawson, who passed away in 2017, was an active supporter of Eastern Randolph High School athletics, Athletic Officer for American Legion Post 81 baseball, served on the Board of Directors of Randolph Community College for nearly 30 years and was a member of the Randolph County Board of Education for 40 years.
The Grady Lawson Memorial Baseball Tournament will feature games at Craven Field in Ramseur and at the Eastern Randolph High School field (Grady Lawson Baseball & Softball Complex). Admission is $5 (under 12 free) with all proceeds going to the Grady Lawson Memorial Scholarship fund.
