Brackets for post-season tournaments in baseball and softball are now complete for both the Mid-Piedmont 3A Conference and the Piedmont Athletic 1A/2A Conference.
The conference tournaments begin Monday and are available at the following links.

Regional tournaments in men's golf are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday at various locations.
Monday, two Asheboro golfers are among the Mid-Piedmont Conference qualifiers who will be competing in the 3A Mid-West Regional in Salisbury.
Local golfers in the 2A classification will also be competing Monday featuring 14 golfers representing Providence Grove, Southwestern Randolph, Trinity and Wheatmore high schools. The 2A Mid-West Regional will take place in Lexington.
On Tuesday, five golfers from Eastern Randolph and Uwharrie Charter Academy will be competing in the 1A Mid-West Region in Salisbury.

The Eagles where lead by Austin Hardie going 2 for 2 with a 2 rbi double. Ben Medinger had a 2 run home run. Walker Wilkins, Logan Sawyer, Blake Mixon all had a hit for the Eagles.
SWR: Kamden Carter had 3 hits with 2 rbi. Bryson Reid had 2 hits. Adam Cole, Eli Gravely and Zack Scruggs all recorded doubles. Landon Williamson took the loss.

PG: Joe Coltrane went 4-for-4 with 2 rbi and 2 runs scored. Luke Thomas (run) and Zander Smith (run) had 2 hits each. Andrew Canter (3 rbi) and Lemuel Coltrane (run) had a hit each. Canter (W, 6 IP, 1 run (0 er), 5 hits, 3 walks, 5 strikeouts) and Thomas (1 IP, 2 strikeouts) saw time on the mound.
WHS: Rob Hales whent 6 innings and took the loss. Hales had 2 hits and scored the Warriors run. Single hits for Travis Hurt (rbi), Mason Rich, Rylan Smith and Clay Hill.

UCA: A six run 5th inning broke open a close game. Two hits each for Logan Sawyer, Grant Little (3 rbi), Walker Wilkins (rbi) and Peyton McCollum (rbi). Little got the win allowing 6 runs on 7 hits with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts.
SWR: Two hits each for Bryson Reid (rbi), Tyler Parks, Adam Cole (2 rbi) and Landon Williamson. Parks took the loss.

PG: Emma Mazzarone struck out 17 and went 4-for-4 at the plate with a triple and a home run. Makayla McClain registered her 100th career hit in a 3-for-3 night with a double and a home run. Maily Way had 3 hits with 2 doubles.

From AHS: The Blue Comet Women battled out a 4-3 win against hometown rivals Southwestern Randolph tonight. Samantha Goicochea started off the scoring for the Blue comets with an assist from Ashley Barrios. Tess Moody scored off of a beautiful free kick from Madison Arroyo. Sherleen Barrios had an assist to Arroyo to end the first half. SWR came out strong in the second half, but Itzel Macias put a free kick right into the back of the net to secure a Blue Comet victory on Senior Night and Youth Soccer Night!
Sarah Allred had 11 saves in goal for Asheboro.
Player of the game was Riley Adams who also did an AMAZING job singing the national anthem and our little youth soccer escorts were inspiring!

Player of the game was Madison Luck for her solid performance in the midfield and her leadership on the field.

Team playoffs in men's tennis begin Wednesday for two Randolph County teams.
Piedmont Athletic Conference Champion Uwharrie Charter enters the post-season undefeated and seeded #2 in the 1A West Region. The Eagles will host #15 seed Christ the King High School from Huntersville.
The top 2A team from the PAC - Wheatmore - is seeded 7th in the 2A West Region. The Warriors will host #10 North Stanly in the opening round Wednesday afternoon at 4:00.
Today is the reporting deadline for the individual championship tournament which begins this Friday.

She was assisted by Madison Luck and Madison Arroyo. The winning goal was scored by Arroyo, assisted by Samantha Goicochea. Luck earned player of the game honors because of her solid play In the midfield for the Blue Comets.

Brett Breedlove, a three-time football All Conference selection at Providence Grove will be continuing his education and football career at Guilford College where the Quakers compete in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.
Providence Grove senior Zane Caudle, PAC Player of the Year in men's basketball, has committed to Brevard College. The Tornados are a part of the USA South Conference.
High jumper Josie Allred of Southwestern Randolph has signed with the United States Naval Academy and be a part of the track & field team. The Midshipmen compete in the Patriot League.
Eastern Randolph's Charlise Phillips has signed with Guilford College to continue her academic and softball career. The Quakers are members of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.

From AHS: Madison Arroyo started the scoring off an assist from Tess Moody. In the second half Moody took a rebound straight to goal from a shot by Madison Luck and scored the second goal for the Comets. The final goal of the night came from a shot by Moody that was followed up by Esmerelda Basilio who buried it in the back of the net.
Madison Luck and Natalie Flores were solid playmakers and created offensive opportunities for the Blue Comets. Natasha Mederos had a strong game playing center back for the Blue Comets. Sarah Allred played tough and consistent in goal with 6 saves.

SWR: Maddie Varner got the win with 5 runs on 7 hits with 3 walks, 1 hit batter and 5 strikeouts. Hayleigh Thompson (2 runs) had 3 hits. There were 2 hits for Caressa King (rbi, run), Lindsey Beck (triple, rbi, run) and Micah Wilson (rbi).
AHS: Two hits each for Salem Lee (home run, 2 rbi, 2 runs), Morgan Coward (triple, rbi, 2 runs) and Sarah Hildreth (rbi). Salem Lee suffered the loss.

From WHS: Savannah Heiney had 3 hits with a double and a run scored. Hannah Shoe also had a hit. Carmen Turgeon pitched a complete game, striking out 4 and allowing 0 earned runs. Randleman won on a 2-run error in the bottom of the 7th.

From AHS: The AHS Blue Comet women's soccer team started conference play tonight with a solid 4-2 victory over host, Oak Grove.
Madison Arroyo started off the scoring with a goal following up a beautiful shot from Natalie Flores, giving Flores the assist. Arroyo struck again, this time assisted by Itzel Macias off of a free kick. Sherleen Barrios scored the go-ahead goal in the second half assisted by Ashley Barrios. Arroyo solidified the win with a goal off a pass from Carlisle Dozier.
Keeper Sarah Allred had 7 saves in goal for the Blue Comets!

ER: Single hits for Brody Gardner (2 runs), Stratton Barwick, Cameron Davis and Cameron Moffitt (run). Jayden Moffitt gave up 5 runs in the loss (3 and two-thirds innings, 8 hits, 2 walks, 2 strikeouts).

RHS: Drake Purvis pitched 5 innings for the win giving up 1 hit with 1 walk and 11 strikeouts. Seth Way gave up a hit and struck out 1 in an inning of relief. Two hits each for Hunter Atkins (home run, 3 rbi, 3 runs), Braylen Hayes (double, triple, 3 rbi, 3 runs), Bryson Sweatt (rbi, run) and Kaden Ethier (run).
UCA: Logan Sawyer and Jose Ramirez had hits for the Eagles.

THS: Cade Hill got the complete game win giving up 2 runs on 7 hits with no walks and 7 strikeouts. Jake Little had 2 hits (home run, 4 rbi, 2 runs) to lead the offense.
PG: Luke Thomas had 2 hits (double, run) for the Patriots. Tyler Foust hit a double. Luke Thomas took the loss with 6 innings pitched (5 runs, 4 hits, 2 walks, 8 strikeouts).

ER: Ayanna Mears (2 runs) and Skylar Pugh (2 doubles, 2 rbi, 2 runs) had 3 hits each. Fallon Cain got the complete game win with 3 runs on 7 hits, 2 walks and 5 strikeouts.

PG: Emma Mazzarone gave up 3 runs on 7 hits with 1 walk and 13 strikeouts in the win. Offensively, Mailey Way had 2 hits (double, 2 runs), Makayla McClain hit a solo home run and Gracie Smith hit a 2-rbi single.
SWR: Molly Strider was 2-for-3 with 2 home runs. Alley Lowe also had 2 hits with single hits by Caressa King, Maddie Varner (double, run) and Haleigh Thompson (rbi). Macie Crutchfield took the loss allowing 5 runs on 4 hits. She gave up 3 walks and struck out 12.
