April 29 - SPRING SPORTS
There are two weeks left in the regular season for women's soccer but other spring sports have reached the post-season or will after this week.
The Mid-Piedmont 3A and the Piedmont Athletic 1A/2A Conferences are scheduled to begin conference tournaments for BASEBALL and SOFTBALL on Monday. Those schedules can be found by following the links.
Conference Tournaments in MEN'S GOLF are also scheduled for Monday with Regionl Tournaments the following Monday (2A & 3A) or Tuesday (1A).
The MPC 3A TRACK & FIELD Championships are Wednesday with Regional Meets the following week.
Dual Team playoffs begin Wednesday in MEN'S TENNIS and a number of local student-athletes will be competing as individuals or doubles teams when Individual Regional action starts next Friday. Trinity won the regular season as a team and five of the seven schools in the PAC will be represented in individual/doubles play. Seeding will take place early next week.
The North Carolina Christian School Association has State Championships scheduled for May 11-13 with two teams from Faith Christian School - baseball (8-1, 10-4) and women's soccer (10-0, 12-1) - winding up impressive seasons.

April 27, 2023 – WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Steven Rightmyer was introduced today as the new women's basketball coach at Randleman High School.
A graduate of Methodist University in Fayetteville, Rightmyer taught at Southeast Randolph Middle School beginning in 2011 and has been on the faculty at Randleman Middle School since 2014. He has been head coach of the boys MS basketball team since 2018 and has served as MS football coach (2014-19) and RHS JV basketball coach (2014-16).
Rightmyer takes over for Brandon Varner who stepped down from the position after his fifth year. During that time his teams reached the fourth round of the state playoffs three times. Varner was also named Region 8 Coach of the Year following each of the last two seasons.

AHS: Davis Gore (5 IP) and Chandler Macon (2 IP) combined on the no-hitter. Gore gave up 5 walks, a hit batter and 1 earned run with 8 strikeouts. Macon struck out 2 batters.
Josh Meadows had 2 hits including a double and 3 rbi. Tanner Marsh recorded a home run and 2 rbi. Ben Luck hit a triple, Macon and Cohen Caviness had doubles and Connor Adams a hit and 2 runs scored.

SWR: Brady Armfield took the loss in 4.2 innings with 8 runs (1 er) on 6 hits and 4 walks with 2 strikeouts. Austin Harvell pitched the final 1.1 innings with 1 hit and 1 strikeout. ER: Addie Flinchum hit a solo home run and was 1 of 5 Wildcats with 1 hit each. Ziera Watson (rbi), Dori Luther (double, rbi), Logann Beaver and Wynne Bartholow were the others. Flinchum gave up 1 run on 1 hit and 5 walks with 14 strikeouts in the win.
PG: Callie Lambert had the Patriot's hit. Emma Mazzarone gave up 5 hits and 3 walks with 6 strikeouts in the loss.

Adams gave up 4 hits with 4 strikeouts in the win.

Kelsey Craven (ER '20) has been named Softball Player of the Week by the USA South Athletic Conference.
Craven batted 8-for-15 in four games last week as the Greensboro College Pride split a doubleheader with Meredith and swept two games from nationally-ranked Pfeiffer, winning game 2 with a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning. The sophomore currently leads the Pride with a .458 average.

The game ended 1-1 after regulation. In the second 10- minute overtime Jaira Arellano scored the game winning goal off of a pass from Flores.
Carlisle Dozier had 11 saves in the nets for the Blue Comets.

Trinity High School has announced the hiring of Coach 'Bear' Bradley as the new Bulldogs' head football coach.
Coach Bradley played at the University of North Carolina as both an offensive and defensive lineman and has 23 years of coaching experience in Guilford, Jackson, and Randolph Counties. He comes to Trinity after serving as the head football coach at Southern Guilford High School. Coach Bradley is excited to come back and coach in an area that he considers home.
Trinity High School will introduce Coach Bradley to our students and faculty during our Bulldog Time on Friday, April 14.

Lemons got the complete game win allowing 0 earned runs on 4 hits, 3 walks and 2 hit batters with 11 strikeouts.

ER: Pierce Leonard went 2-for-3 with 2 triples, 4 rbi, 2 runs, a walk and hit-by-pitch for the Wildcats. Ethan Frye (rbi), Alex Kivett (double, 2 rbi, 2 runs) and Lucas Smith (rbi, 3 runs) also had 2 hits each. Samuel Asbill pitched 6 innings for the win (4 runs, 8 hits, 2 walks, 1 hit batter, 2 strikeouts). Kivett worked the seventh inning.

WHS: Two hits each for Mason Rich (2 rbi), Jake Parks (double, rbi, run) and Ayden Byrd (2 rbi, run). Sean Jennings got the win giving up 3 hits with 7 strikeouts in 6 innings. Jonathan Heraldo struck out 3 with 1 hit in the seventh.
JM: Keigan Burt had 2 hits for the Jets. Single hits by Ian McMillian and Quinn Wollford.

CHHS: Will Staats had 3 hits (double, 3 rbi, 2 runs) and Jason Kneg 2 hits (rbi, 2 runs) to lead the Tigers. Stephen Krzastek, the 4th of 6 pitchers used, got the win.
SWR: Eli Gravely had 3 hits (HR, 2 rbi, 3 runs), Grant Kirk (triple, rbi, run) and Tyler Parks (2 runs) had 2 hits each. Kamden Carter added a double with 2 rbi. Parks pitched the 6th inning and took the loss.

UCA: Three hits each for Molly Bulla (double, 4 rbi) and Kynley Brewer (2 runs). Maddie Burrow (rbi, run) and Logan Zephir (rbi, run) also recorded doubles. Bulla allowed 0 earned runs on 2 hits with 11 strikeouts in the complete game win.

From AHS: The Varsity ladies topped Central Davidson 2-0 for their first shutout of the season.
Itzel Macias had a phenomenal goal off of a free kick to put the Comets up 1-0. Natasha Mederos fed Tess Moody a ball to lead to the Comet's second goal! The entire team played together and played tough to secure the win. Carlisle Dozier had 12 saves in goal.
With this win, the Blue Comets move to the top of the mid-Piedmont Conference.

UCA: Seven Eagles recorded hits led by Ben Medinger's 2 hits and 3 rbi and Peyton McCullom with 2 hits - including a triple - and 2 rbi. Jose Ramirez pitched the 5th and 6th innings in relief of Logun Wilkins for the win. Brett Smith worked the seventh.
North Davidson 7, Asheboro 2
AHS: Tanner Marsh had 3 hits including a 2-run home run. Chandler Macon had 2 hits and Amare Godwin and Reid Sudduth had a hit each. Connor Adams, Macon and Gavin Allen all saw action on the mound with Adams taking the loss.

Randleman 9, Robinson (VA) 3 (at Socastee HS (SC))
RHS: Seth Way had 3 hits with a 3-run home run, double and 5 total rbi. Way also got the win with 3 runs allowed on 7 hits and 2 walks. He struck out 8 in 6 innings before giving way to Braxton Walker who struck out 3 in the seventh.
