The North Carolina Coaches Association started the All-Star games (football and basketball) in 1949 in conjunction with the annual summer meetings of the Association. Soccer was added in 1992.

December 11, 2023 – POST-SEASON AWARDS
Two volleyball players and thirteen soccer players from Randolph County have been honored as All-Region performers during the 2023 sports season. Three of those were also voted onto the 2023 All-State Teams by the Coaches Association of their sport.
The North Carolina Volleyball Coaches Association named Southwestern Randolph seniors Coley Shiflet and Madelyn Smith to the 2A All-State Volleyball Team and the state Soccer Coaches Association voted Cougar sophomore Fernando Hernandez onto the All-State 2A Soccer Team.
The NCSCA also selected Randleman's Brian Vaughn as the 2023 Assistant Soccer Coach of the Year.
