Game 1: The only run came on a sacrifice fly by Seth Way in the rainy fifth inning as starters Jake Riddle (RHS) and Alex Carver (UCA) and their defenses kept the offenses quiet.
Game 2: Both teams scored in the second inning – John Kirkpatrick driving in Caden Lasley for the Tigers and Walker Wilkins scoring for the Eagles on a throwing error following a base hit by Grat Dalton.
The game remained tied 1-1 until Randleman struck in the top of the ninth inning with a double by Kirkpatrick followed by a home run by Way. Reliever Braxton Walker got the win as Randleman held Uwharrie Charter scoreless in the bottom of the ninth.

Game 1: Jayten Beasley drove in Jacob Flinchum for a first inning run which held up for the Patriots win. Flinchum had 2 hits, including a double, with singles by Beasley and Logan Fox. Beasley got the complete game win on 3 hits, 3 walks and 1 strikeout.
Lincoln Coble had 2 hits for Trinity and Gage Griffiths added a single. Andon Simmons took the loss.
Game 2: Trinity scored 4 runs early and held on for the 1-run win and a split in the doubleheader.

The North Carolina Basketball Coaches Association (WEBSITE) has named Asheboro senior Jerquarius Stanback to this year's All-State Team.
A basketball committ to Appalachian State University, Stanback averaged 24.6 points and 11.3 rebounds per game for the Blue Comets this season and over 4 assists and 4 blocks per game.

In the sixth inning, Lucas Smith singled in 2 runs followed by a Carlos Cordero ground-out which drove in the game winning run. Other hits by Alex Kivett (run), Bryson Marley (run), Sam Asbill and Day'Veion Ford (run).
AHS: Adam Curry hit a 2-run home run to give Asheboro the lead in the third inning. Cohen Caviness, Shane Immel (run) and Aiden Robinson also had hits.
Mason Kotlowski started and pitched 5.1 innings allowing 2 (earned) runs on 2 hits and 2 walks with 2 strikeouts. Gavin Allen worked 2-thirds of an inning but gave up 1 (earned) run on 2 hits with a strikeout. Amare Godwin struck out 1 in the seventh.

Armfield, Jake Lunsford and Jonah Campbell (double) had 2 hits each. Campbell pitched 5 innings for the win with 3 runs on 2 hits and 7 walks while striking out 10 batters.
THS: Walker Parrish took the loss giving up 7 runs on 11 hits and 2 walks with 4 strikeouts in 5 innings. Parrish had 2 hits and 2 rbi while Ethan Willard walked 4 times and collected 4 stolen bases.

RHS: Tate Andrews had 4 hits, two of the doubles, and drove in 5 runs. Braxton Walker had 3 hits with 3 rbi. Seth Way had 10 strikeouts in 5.2 innings for the win.

From AHS: The blue comets played hard in their third game in 5 days and came away with a 2 to 1 win against Jordan Matthews. Jaira Arellano scored the first goal off a great through ball from Chloe Chanmaly. Itzel Macias buried a corner kick in the back of the net off of a Jordan Matthews player for the second goal!
Emma Little had nine saves and goal including a phenomenal penalty kick save with two minutes and 36 seconds left to go in the game! That Penalty save, along with her solid play awarded Emma Little player of the game along with Penny Smith who held down the defensive mid position phenomenally!

The North Carolina Basketball Coaches Association has selected eight Randolph County basketball players to All-District 8 teams for the 2023-24 season.
Heading the list is Jerquarius Stanback of Asheboro who was named District 8 Player of the Year in men's basketball. Joining Stanback on the 1st Team is Dominic Payne of Trinity. Named to the 2nd Team are Tyshaun Goldston of Randleman and Timothy Brower of Eastern Randolph.
Randleman's Audra Petty was named to the 1st Team in women's basketball for District 8. On the 2nd Team are Caressa King of Southwestern Randolph and Sion Murrain of Asheboro and named to the All-District 3rd Team was Jordin George of Southwestern Randolph.

From AHS: The Blue Comets struggled to deal with the speed of the Sun Valley team and went down 4-0 in the first half. However, in the second half the Blue Comets were able to adjust in the midfield and played a tight 1-0 second half.
Carlisle Dozier had 23 saves in the goal for the Blue Comets. Players of the match were Karen Cox and Carlisle Dozier with honorable mention to Emma Little.

March 4, 2024 - SOUTH ATLANTIC CONFERENCE AWARDS
Gracyn Hall (RHS '23) has been named to the South Atlantic Conference All-Freshman Team in women's basketball.
Hall led the Emory & Henry Wasps in offensive rebounding and was second overall with 6.7 rebounds per game which was 11th best in the SAC. She was third on the team in scoring with 8.9 points per game after starting 27 of 28 games this season.
Diamond McDowell (AHS '21) was named All-Conference (First Team) by the SAC. McDowell averaged 16.9 points and 10.1 rebounds during her junior season with the Anderson (SC) University Trojans. She ranked 4th in the conference in rebounds and 7th in scoring.

Jonathan Heraldo (3.0 IP, 2 er, 2 hits, 3 walks, 3 strikeouts), Clay Hill (2.1 IP 4 er, 5 hits, 2 walks, 1 strikeout), Payton Mooney (4 er, 1 hit, 3 walks) and Ayden Byrd (0.1 IP, 1 er, 1 hit, 1 walk, 1 strikeout) saw time on the mound.

March 2, 2024 – COLLEGE COMMITMENTS
Wheatmore senior Carmen Turgeon has signed to continue her educational and softball career at Limestone University in Gaffney, South Carolina.
While at Wheatmore, Carmen has been a standout player on both the softball and tennis teams. She has been recognized as an All-Conference player multiple times as well as All-District in softball and was PAC singles champion and All-Conference in tennis as a senior.
The Limestone Saints compete in the South Atlantic Conference.
Trinity’s Levi Dennis has signed with Randolph College in Lynchburg, Virginia to wrestle. Levi has helped lead Trinity wrestling over the last four and all of his hard work paid off this year with the team finishing 38-0 and winning the NCHSAA Dual State Championship.
Levi finishes his career at Trinity with 150 career wins and back-to-back appearances in the state finals.
The Randolph Wildcats are members of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference,

Wheatmore athletic director Andrew Davis has announced the next Warriors football coach:
Wheatmore High School would like to welcome Jacob Sheffield as the new head football coach. He will replace Coach Philip Yarbrough who has been with us for the last seven seasons.
Sheffield is coming to Wheatmore from Trinity High School where he served as the associate head coach, run game coordinator and special teams coordinator during the 2023 Football season. Prior to that he was the head football coach and assistant athletic director at High Point Central High School for three seasons.
He also served as the head JV football coach, special teams coordinator and head wrestling coach at Page High School from 2017 through 2019. He brings experience, energy and a wealth of knowledge to the table.
